MY BUCKET LIST

Last year, I lost a lifelong friend. It broke my heart. Today, I heard the news that Patsy Goodwin Gentry, another long-time friend has passed. It makes me want to hurry. We were all around the same age, give or take a year or two.

My bucket list is lengthy. I have two family members not yet finished with their education. I long ago realized that student loan debt is a national disgrace. Not that I think everyone is entitled to a free degree, but I do believe the government should lend them the money at a zero-interest rate. With a degree, they’ll pay a lot more income tax in their lifetimes.

Even though I’ve set aside funds to cover my family’s students’ expenses, I’d like to be around when they graduate. It would be my achievement, too.

I have a long list of books in my head in various stages of development. My shelf now contains twenty-five published works. One more, Drama Can Be Deadly, is in the editing stage and will soon be ready for release.

An assortment of projects fill my computer. There’s a stage play I work on from time to time and a long-ago written short story I re-opened only this morning and began the polishing process. I’d like to do another anthology with that included.

I have an illustrated children’s book in development.

Along with the fabulously talented Wes Winters, I’m working on The Junior Newland Old Tyme Country Songbook. I’ll do the lyrics, and Wes will do the music. I’m singing impaired, so when it’s ready, we’ll have my vocally gifted daughter Melanie join him in the recording studio. We’ll sell both the printed book and the album on Amazon.

There’s a self-portrait I’ve been dabbing at for quite some time with all these characters in it. I want to finish that before I go.For making an order of the order lowest priced cialis , you have to log in to the site and make an order by filling up a form online. The gifted actor/director/screenwriter/producer Shana Gagnon is developing a movie version of my biggest hit story, Maude, the only non-fiction I ever did. It’s the true story of my grandmother Maude Foley’s life. We’re doing an Indiegogo fund raising to get it off the ground while she stalks corporate sponsors. I hope to be around for the premiere.

One of the books I’m writing mostly in my head for the moment is from a vacation trip I took with my family and friends almost fifty years ago. It’s been floating around up there for some time. I finally feel I have it on the right track to begin, and I expect to start work soon.

At the time, I’m more than half-way through Meaghan Curran Quinn, the fifth in the Curran Glen Series.

I’ll soon be well past the Biblically allotted three-score and ten years. I turn seventy-seven soon. I’d like to stick around to finish everything. The trouble is, as soon as one work is done, another person sneaks into my head and demands equal time. I’ve already worn the letters off another keyboard.

I wonder if the good Lord will get upset if I take some of these mental characters to heaven with me. Some of them aren’t very nice folk. Then again, I do believe He’s the one who put them in my mind in the first place.

I’ll find out, I suppose, I only hope it isn’t too soon.
